You need to show that you can drive safely, attentively and in line with the rules – correct setup (seat, mirrors, seatbelt), good visual scanning, and proper behavior in traffic. You also need to master maneuvers like parking, turning and reversing. Since July 2025, driver assistance systems are also tested – you'll need to understand and use them correctly.

The test takes about 45 minutes and takes place at a road traffic office near you.

On average, students need around 30 driving lessons to feel test-ready. The exact number depends on your learning pace, prior driving experience and how regularly you take lessons.

On average it takes 2 to 4 months. If you want to move faster, intensive courses are also available.
